websites have to be treated a little bit differently with regard to SEO, both off-page and on-page.
On-Page For websites:
- To start with alt tag feature should be used effectively for it makes that big difference as Ecommerce websites usually lack enough contents.
- Description is the most critical part of your SEO process as there are too few places to add text contents for n site.
- USE H tags properly, (not necessarily stuffing keywords) to get the desired effect
- Frame your titles and make sure they are relevant to the Alt tags and description (this increases your chances)
- Finally Site Structure is a lot more important for website than the rest. Make sure pages are sort under proper category (folders) and sub categories.
- Links from manufacturer's websites and blogs would be the best and most relevant one
- Ignoring most directories will be a good idea (they are not worth your time)
- Articles directories are long dead, just don't waste your time there
- Guest blogging is still effective but all depends on they way it is done and the sites where you blog
- Having a lots of good looking product photos (pics) might win you links (apart from increasing successful sales conversion)
- Start a blog and write relevant contents that will be useful for your potential audience. Don't write about your products or yourself, instead write about the issues related to the products you sell, issues your products can address and buying online related tips.
- Forums are also effective, there are related forums were you can build both reputation and links if you spend a good deal of your time and effort
- Blog commenting is also relevant provided if it is done effectively.
- Social Media Links count, don't worry about dofollow/nofollows they all count (Mr. Google rarely speak the truth)
- PR will be a good idea as well, provided there is something worthy of pressing..!
- Create impressive (spend some money) videos on how to and what is kind of (neutral) videos and upload them on YouTube, you will get both links and reputation as they will surely get stared (and some bloggers will surely link you back)
